Who are we looking for?

If you love serving others and making connections with others, we would love your help from just before 2pm until about 3:30pm during school terms at our Friday Cafe.

We are hoping to create a warm and welcoming space for parents and carers at our church school to enjoy drinks, coffee, and fellowship before they pick up their children.

Do you have the following qualities?

• Warm and approachable personality: A welcoming, friendly demeanor to ensure a comfortable environment for all visitors.
• Good communication skills: You will find it easy chatting with new people and building relationships.
• Reliability and commitment: Consistency in attendance and punctuality, displaying dedication to the role and the church community. You can let us know how regularly you are free to help out.
• Team player: Ability to work well with others, adapt to different tasks, and collaborate effectively to ensure a smooth café operation.
• Basic food and beverage knowledge: Basic Understanding of proper food handling, safety, and hygiene practices, as well as basic knowledge of serving drinks and coffee.
• Enthusiasm for community building: A genuine interest in fostering connections and friendships within the church and school community.

Here is what you would you be doing in the role:

Here are the main tasks needed for each session (more detail in the notes below)

• Setting up space ready for guests to arrive
• Help clearing up after space closes
• Meeting and greeting people to make them feel welcome
• Chatting to people during sessions and helping everyone to feel at ease
• Looking out for visitors who might need help
• Passing any appropriate pastoral or other enquiries to member of staff team or letting people know about church activities if they have enquiries.
• Making & offering tea and coffee to visitors
• Following all the policies and procedures of the church risk assessments so that everyone is safe
